Alexander Masyk, Master of Fine Arts, was born in the family of the honored artist of Ukraine Vladimir Masyk. From childhood, Alexander was surrounded by an artistic atmosphere. His father took him for sketches, opened to him the nuts and bolts of painting still life and landscape. Naturally, he enrolled at and successfully finished Ukrainian Taras Shevchenko State Art School with honor in 1965, and graduated from Kyiv National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture (NAOMA), Ukraine in 1971. Alexander is a classically trained award-winning artist.

Alexander Masyk is a Resident Artist of the prestigious Salmagundi Club of New York from 2019, member of Oil Painters of America (OPA) from 2019, member of Allied Artists of America (AAA) from 2019, the American Artists Professional League (AAPL) from 2019, Audubon Artists from 2019, Pastel Society of America (PSA) from 2019, National Society of Painters (NSP) in Casein & Acrylic from 2019, National Oil & Acrylic Painter’s Society (NOAPS) from 2018, Impressionist Society of America (ISA) from 2019, National Union of Young Ukrainian Artists from 1976, National Union of Ukrainian Artists from 1995.

From 2012 Alexander resides in New York. Everything that attracts the artist’s attention, turns to pictures, which you would like to have in your dwelling. Alexander Masyk has a special natural gift of the vision of his future work’s composition. He works quickly, his brush confidently models the form, and his color solutions represent a real solution performance in different genres of which the artist has a perfect command. Artist works well in oil and tempera painting, pastel drawing, owns etchings, linocuts, and woodcuts.

Alexander Masyk has been taking part in exhibitions since 1970 and has won numerous awards. He visited a lot of countries and his paintings eloquently tell about his trips. In the creative artist's asset, there are more than 100 exhibitions in Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, China, Greece, and the United States. His works are in numerous museums and private collections in Canada, USA, Great Britain, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Australia, Switzerland, Morocco, Ukraine, Poland, Russia, Hungary, France, Japan, Egypt, Mexico, and China.
